Creating content using Auto Edit

Maximise your output with little effort

How it works

Auto Edit using AI, creates a draft edit from your project uploads in minutes.

It is a quick way to turn existing footage into polished content without starting from scratch. Use it to create contributor spotlights, social cutdowns, campaign variations, and more from the content you already have in your project.

Or follow a step-by-step guide

Create an Auto Edit

  1. Open your project that has uploads

  2. Create a new edit using the Smart Editor

  3. Enter a prompt (on the right hand panel) describing the video you want

  4. Select a contributor if needed

  5. Leave scenes unselected to use all relevant clips, or select a scene to narrow the draft

  6. Choose options such as lower thirds or title cards

  7. Start the auto edit

What happens next

Auto Edit will:

  • Find relevant clips

  • Build a story

  • Trim longer clips

  • Apply branding such as lower thirds, title cards, logos, and music

When the draft is ready

You can:

  • Regenerate the edit

  • Confirm and edit it

  • Review the selected clips and trims

  • Export and share when ready

Tips

  • Use a clear prompt for better results.

  • Turn on Contributor details in Studio settings so you can use automatic lower thirds (once the data has been collected)

  • Review title cards before exporting

Troubleshooting

  • If you can't see this feature within the smart editor, ensure Seenit Co-Producer (AI) is enabled within your studio settings

  • You must have uploads in the project for this feature to work (we will be building it out so that you can use it across your whole library but this isn't live yet)

  • It's cut the clips at the wrong points

    • This is easy to resolve, you can select regenerate or

  • It says my videos aren't ready for Auto Edit

    • Auto Edit builds your narrative and video based on the video transcripts, if your videos don't have transcripts then they won't be able to use them.

    • If you've just received your videos then give them a few minutes for the transcripts to generate

    • If it is an old project, you may need to re-upload these clips to generate transcripts for them (they may have been received before we had this feature)
