This feature is now available in the Smart Editor and currently rolled out to Enterprise Beta and Pro Beta users, with wider availability coming soon.
You can now add B-Roll directly in the Smart Editor.
B-Roll lets you add supporting footage or overlay clips to your main video, helping you create richer, smoother, and more professional edits. You can use it to cover cuts, add visual interest, or bring extra context to your story.
Why use B-Roll?
Adding B-Roll helps you:
Make your edits feel smoother and more polished.
Add visual context that supports your main message.
Cover cuts, pauses, or transitions for a professional finish.
Make talking-head videos more engaging and dynamic.
How to add B-Roll to a clip (in the Smart Editor)
Highlight the main clip in your timeline where you want to add B-Roll.
Select the Add overlay tool.
Choose your B-Roll source:
Library (pre-existing content)
Upload a new clip
Record a fresh clip directly
Preview the clip or select it from the thumbnail view.
If your B-Roll is longer than the main clip, you’ll be prompted to choose the section you want.
Trim the B-Roll and adjust how much of your main clip you want it to overlay.
