How to edit my B-Roll video overlays (In the Smart Editor)

Editing B-Roll overlays

Once youโ€™ve added B-Roll in the Smart Editor, you can fine-tune it to fit your video. You can trim clips, adjust audio, crop visuals, or even replace or detach overlays to get the perfect look and feel.

Trimming a B-Roll overlay

  1. In the timeline, select the B-Roll clip.

  2. Click Trim Overlay to open the overlay trimmer.

  3. Adjust the in and out points or reposition it relative to your main clip.

  4. Click Done.

Adjusting B-Roll audio

By default, B-Roll audio is muted (0%). To adjust:

  1. Select the Clip settings tool.

  2. Use the volume slider to set your preferred audio level.

  3. Preview, then click Apply.

Cropping a B-Roll clip

  1. Select the B-Roll clip in the timeline.

  2. Click Crop Clip.

  3. Choose Fit Screen or Fill Screen.

  4. Click Apply.

Replacing or detaching B-Roll

To change the B-Roll

  1. Select the B-Roll clip.

  2. Click Change Overlay and choose a replacement from Library, Upload, or Record.

  3. Trim and position as needed.

To detach the overlay

  1. Select the B-Roll clip.

  2. Click Detach Overlay.

  3. The clip will be removed from its overlay position and moved to the end of your timeline as a standalone asset.
